Ze'Xchange

Ze’Xchange converts AutoCAD Plant 3D geometry and properties into native, parametric Revit elements, including pipes, fittings, valves, equipment, and structural components. It preserves critical engineering data such as specifications, sizes, materials, and line numbers as Revit parameters. Unlike linked references or flat geometry, Ze’Xchange creates editable Revit elements that your team can route, tag, schedule, and use in downstream BIM workflows, enabling better coordination and continuity between plant design and Revit-based project delivery.

Ze'Xchange Overview

How It Works

Three Steps. One Bridge File.

No linked models, no round-tripping through a neutral format that loses your data. Export once, hand off one file, build native Revit content.

Export From Plant 3D

Export the whole drawing, or just what you need Real solid geometry, captured automatically

  • Select What You Need
  • Export Plant 3D Data
  • Capture Solid Geometry
  • Ready For Revit

One Encrypted .zex File

Geometry, properties & colour in one file Email it, share it, hand it off — nothing left behind

  • Pack Everything Together
  • Encrypt Your Data
  • Share One File
  • Keep Everything Intact

Build In Revit

Load the file, configure, build Live QA comparison before you commit

  • Load The .zex File
  • Configure Your Model
  • Build In Revit
  • Compare Before Commit

Feature Suite

One Workflow.

From Plant 3D To Native

Revit Model.

Every tier runs the same real conversion engine full native pipes, fittings, valves, equipment and structural steel. What changes as you move up is how much of the routine work Ze' Xchange automates for you.

Exact Geometry

Real captured shape — not a stand-in Every pipe, fitting, valve & structural piece

Native, Editable Elements

Pipes = real, native Revit pipe elements Fittings, valves & equipment = editable families Real connectors throughout

Automatic Category Mapping

Every part auto-sorted into the right Revit category Zero manual re-sorting after import

Routing Preferences Wired Automatically

Draw a branch, Revit picks the right fitting No manual routing setup

Material & Colour Sync

Your Plant 3D colours carry into Revit Materials match, element for element

Metadata As Shared/Family Parameters

Spec, material, line number & size land as real parameters Ready for tagging & scheduling instantly

Native, Editable Structural Elements

Members & bracing build as expandable Structural Framing Footings land as real Structural Foundation elements Grating builds as real, see-through bar geometry

Export By Coordinates (WCS / UCS)

Export on World or User Coordinates, your choice Model lands exactly where it should in Revit

Incremental Model Updates

Re-import updates into the same Revit model Only what changed gets rebuilt

Connected Piping

Pipes & fittings connect into a real MEP network Review connection status before coordination

Crash-Safe Auto-Save & Resume

A crash never costs you the run Resume exactly where you left off

Data Manager & QA Reports

Live, side-by-side Revit vs. Plant 3D comparison Export a CSV or printable sign-off report

Batch Process

Queue any number of files & walk away Unattended, resumable, runs overnight

Single Encrypted .zex Handoff

Everything in one encrypted file No loose folders, nothing left behind
