ACPV selected Enscape, paired with its Revit model, to give both the design team and Poste Italiane's stakeholders a photorealistic, real-time view of the retail branch concept well before construction began. Because the tool renders directly from the working BIM model rather than requiring a separate visualization pass, the firm could iterate on materials, lighting, and finishes such as the digitally printed stoneware and polychrome marble flooring, and see the results immediately rather than waiting on traditional renders.

That real-time feedback loop let ACPV present a confident, near-final picture of the post office of the future concept, and the completed Milan branch ended up matching those visualizations closely, validating the workflow ahead of a wider rollout across Poste Italiane's network of Italian locations.

ACPV faced a demanding brief: design a 400-square-meter retail branch for Poste Italiane in Milan that would serve as the prototype for a much larger rollout across the company's Italian locations, meaning every material and layout decision had to be resolved with confidence before construction began.

The concept combined several distinct design elements, including window-embedded digital screens, digitally printed stoneware surfaces, circular and arched motifs, and polychrome marble flooring referencing historic Italian churches, that needed to read as a coherent, welcoming "post office of the future" rather than a collection of disconnected features. 

Getting client buy-in on this mix of technology and heritage-inspired materials required visuals detailed and accurate enough to represent how finishes, lighting, and digital elements would actually look and function together in the finished branch, and to do so quickly enough to keep the project moving toward a design meant to be replicated many times over.

Before pairing Revit with Enscape's real-time rendering, ACPV and other firms typically relied on offline rendering software or hand-produced illustrations to visualize a retail concept like the Poste Italiane branch for client review.

Producing a single high-quality rendered image could take hours per iteration, since each material, lighting, or layout change had to be manually re-rendered outside the working BIM model rather than viewed instantly alongside it. Because material, lighting, and layout adjustments appeared instantly in the render alongside the working model, the team could test and refine choices such as the digitally printed stoneware, the marble flooring pattern, and the placement of window-embedded digital screens far more quickly than a traditional rendering workflow would allow, and get client sign-off on each decision with confidence rather than guesswork.

That speed mattered because this branch was a prototype meant to be rolled out across many Poste Italiane locations, so a faster, more reliable approval cycle here had an outsized effect on how quickly the broader concept could move forward.
