ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel is an international architecture and interior design collective founded in Milan in 2000 by Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel. From its base at Via Cerva in central Milan, the studio has grown to more than 230 professionals working under the leadership of 14 partners, delivering buildings, interiors and public spaces across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the United States.

The practice organises its work around the idea of shared well-being: the belief that architecture should serve collective quality of life rather than individual spectacle. In the studio's own framing, this means pursuing the timeless over the ephemeral and the responsible over the extravagant, and treating each commission as an opportunity to rebalance the relationship between people, place and environment.

Services and Areas of Practice

ACPV works fluidly across scales, which is one of the defining characteristics of the office:

• Masterplanning and urban regeneration – large-scale district strategies that stitch former industrial land back into the city.

Notable Projects

Milan

Milan remains the studio's most visible testing ground. The Symbiosis district is a large urban regeneration masterplan in the south of the city, and ACPV has designed several buildings within it. Casa Moncler, completed in 2025, serves as the fashion group's headquarters and is positioned as a landmark of urban regeneration. The A2A Life Tower, currently under way, is intended as a new marker for the regeneration of southern Milan. Earlier Milan work includes the Fastweb headquarters for Covivio and the San Babila Business Center.

International

Beyond Italy, the office has delivered No.8 Castle Road in Hong Kong, completed in 2025 and recognised with a Facade Award of Excellence at the CVU Awards 2026; the NOVE office building in Munich; Arte, a high-end residential condominium in Miami; and The Sky Taipei, a mixed-use tower in Taiwan. In Italy, the studio has also designed the Reply headquarters in Turin and Enel's headquarters in Rome.

Organisation and Governance

ACPV operates as an interdisciplinary collective in which partners act as the bridge between the studio's design principles and their application on individual projects. A Partner in Charge is assigned to each commission to maintain methodological consistency and design quality. Shared knowledge on materials, processes and design approaches is held in a long-established internal digital system, supporting an organisational model built on shared responsibility and continuous improvement.

Governance sits with a five-member Board of Directors: Antonio Citterio as Partner Co-founder and Chairman, Patricia Viel as Partner Co-founder and Board Member, Sara Busnelli as Partner and CEO, Florian Thorwart as Partner and Board Member, and Matteo Brambati as General Manager and Board Member.

Standards, Certifications and Innovation

The studio maintains an unusually broad certification portfolio for a design practice, covering quality management (ISO 9001), environmental management (ISO 14001), information security (ISO 27001), anti-bribery (ISO 37001) and occupational health and safety (ISO 45001), alongside the Italian UNI/PdR 125 gender equality standard and UNI/PdR 74:2019. Published policies cover ethics, anti-corruption, anti-harassment, whistleblowing and environmental and workplace safety.

Research and development run through dedicated strands including ACPV Innovation, ACPV IDEO and ACPV X, which explore emerging design methods and technologies alongside the core project work.
