Tool Overview

Sonar Labs is a software platform purpose-built for heavy civil contractors, streamlining the most overlooked but critical aspects of construction operations: material movement and subcontractor payments. At its core, Sonar Labs replaces the outdated patchwork of spreadsheets, emails, and phone calls with a unified digital system that captures, connects, and automates jobsite workflows. The first module, EMT (Earthwork Material Tracker), acts as a control tower for dirt logistics. Contractors running 30–50 active projects at any given time often lack visibility into where materials are being imported or exported. EMT allows project teams to track what material is available, where it’s needed, and which vendors are hauling it. By digitizing haul tickets, mapping material flows, and automating inter-project matching, EMT helps teams save on trucking costs and reduce material waste. It provides real-time insight into inventory levels, distances between sites, and high-impact reuse opportunities—turning data into dollars. The second module, NPS (Net Pay System), focuses on automating unit-price subcontractor payments. In public and private infrastructure jobs, pay estimates are manually created using Excel, which is prone to errors and time-consuming back-and-forth. NPS creates a centralized financial and compliance ledger by generating payment estimates directly from field logs, tracking lien waivers, certifications, and insurance expirations—all in one place. With built-in checks for compliance and real-time updates from the field, project managers and finance teams can approve payments faster and with confidence. Together, these modules are more than standalone tools. They are the foundation for a connected operating system tailored to the realities of heavy civil construction. By capturing operational data once and flowing it across material, financial, and compliance workflows, Sonar Labs eliminates rework and helps contractors increase margins. The platform is scalable, easy to adopt, and designed for field-first usability. Whether managing a $5M paving job or a $500M infrastructure project, Sonar Labs brings clarity and coordination to the dirt world.
