Callout Overview

Callout is an AI-powered construction drawing review tool that checks PDF drawing sets against building codes and standards. Licensed Professional Engineers and other AEC design professionals upload their drawings, select from 33+ supported codes across 7 engineering disciplines and architecture, and receive a structured list of findings in under 60 seconds.

Each finding includes a severity level (Critical, Major, Minor, or Advisory), a confidence rating (High, Medium, or Low), the exact code section and subsection reference, a description of the issue, the sheet number and location where it was found, and a suggested resolution. Findings are not vague flags or pass/fail indicators. They are specific, actionable comments that reference the same code sections a plan reviewer would cite.

Callout supports mechanical, structural, architectural, electrical, plumbing, energy, and fire protection disciplines. Supported codes include the IBC, IMC, IPC, IECC, NEC, ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1, NFPA 13, NFPA 72, NFPA 101, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, ADA 2010, ANSI A117.1, and more. Multiple codes from different disciplines can be selected simultaneously, so a multi-trade drawing set can be reviewed in a single pass.

The PE Calibration system learns from each engineer's accept, reject, and edit decisions. After a few reviews, Callout adapts its output to match the reviewer's engineering judgment, reducing false positives and focusing on the types of findings the engineer values most. This calibration happens without fine-tuning or retraining any AI model. It works by dynamically adjusting the review context based on stored decision history.

The Firm Standards Library lets users add up to 20 plain-English firm-specific requirements that are checked on every review alongside the selected model codes. Jurisdiction Amendments allow users to upload local code amendment PDFs so the AI can cross-reference state or municipal modifications against the base model codes.

Review results can be exported to CSV, Excel, or PDF. Shareable read-only report links can be generated for team collaboration. For firms, Callout offers organization accounts with shared credit pools, role-based access, firm-wide calibration, shared standards, and an audit trail.

Callout is not a replacement for professional engineering judgment. It is a first-pass review tool that catches the predictable, documentation-heavy code violations that consume the majority of manual review time, so the reviewing engineer can focus on the issues that require actual engineering analysis.

Pricing is credit-based with no subscriptions or seat licenses. Credits never expire. Every new account includes 50 free credits to run a first review. Drawings are processed in memory and never stored. The AI operates under a zero-retention policy.

Compare Versions

Takes two versions of the same drawing set and tells you exactly what changed between them, sheet by sheet. It surfaces specific MEP, architectural, and civil change. Each finding is tagged with discipline, severity, and confidence, with a box drawn around the exact spot on the page so reviewers can click straight to it. This tool is especially valuable for multi-discipline coordination and prototype or chain projects where the same set iterates many times.
