3DMeasure is a free Revit plugin from Camilion, an Autodesk Authorized Developer based in Barcelona, Spain. It solves a long-standing gap in Revit's native toolset: measuring distances directly in a 3D view. Users select two arbitrary points, or click a single edge, and a modeless dialog displays the distance along with delta values (Δx, Δy, Δz) and coordinates. Because the dialog is modeless, work can continue in the model without closing it. The plugin supports switching between three coordinate systems — Internal Origin, Project Base Point, and Survey Point — and displays results in the project's defined units and rounding. Measurements and coordinates can be exported to the clipboard for use elsewhere. 3DMeasure also works across linked models, though a few Tab key presses may be needed to snap correctly when a linked model's origin does not coincide with the host model's origin. 3DMeasure is compatible with Autodesk Revit versions 2018 through 2027 and is available at no cost from Camilion's website.
