Teams access live 3D BIM models through a web browser to coordinate design, track issues, detect clashes and compare model versions.
It is part of Asite's digital engineering platform following their 2023 acquisition of 3D Repo.
3D Repo Overview
3D Repo is a cloud-based Building Information Modelling (BIM) collaboration platform that helps architecture, engineering and construction teams manage BIM data through a web browser during design, delivery and operation. Architects and engineers use it to coordinate faster and improve data accuracy; contractors use it to speed delivery, reduce risk and monitor progress; clients and owners use it to drive accountability and streamline handover. The platform includes issue tracking, automated clash detection between model elements, and version comparison to highlight changes between model revisions. It supports a wide range of file formats, including Autodesk, Bentley and IFC, and provides real-time, browser-based access to live 3D BIM models from anywhere. Teams can extend the platform with add-ons such as Autodesk plugins, Excel and Power BI templates, and HERE Maps integration, and it exposes an API for custom integrations. 3D Repo was acquired by Asite in April 2023 and continues to operate under the 3D Repo name and its own site, 3drepo.com, as part of Asite's digital engineering offering.
