Company Overview
ArchiCGI Drafting is the drawing department of ArchiCGI, a studio many architects know for architectural rendering. Here the output is drawings rather than images: shop drawings for millwork and furniture, architectural and interior sets, CAD conversion of paper and PDF plans, and Revit models.
Millwork and furniture shop drawings
Shop drawings are the core of the work. Millwork shops, casework and furniture manufacturers, and general contractors send design intent drawings and a spec section, and get back a set a fabricator can price, get approved and build from. That means plans, elevations, sections and details with dimensions, materials, hardware and joinery called out. Where a specification names an Architectural Woodwork Standards grade, whether Economy, Custom or Premium, the drawings are detailed to that grade. ArchiCGI is not an AWI member or a certification body, and says so plainly: on a QCP project the certified fabricator remains responsible for compliance.
Typical scopes include reception desks, cabinetry and casework, wall paneling, built-in seating, closets, kitchens and custom furniture. For manufacturers producing a series, the team keeps the source files, so a new size or finish becomes a revision rather than a new drawing.
Architectural and interior drafting
The studio drafts from an existing design: floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and as-built drawings of what is actually on site. Interior packages cover floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, lighting and electrical layouts, floor covering plans and wall elevations. Sheets come back on the client's title blocks and layer standards, in DWG and PDF, so they drop into an office's own set without cleanup.
CAD conversion
Old paper plans, scanned sheets, PDFs and hand sketches are redrawn as clean, layered CAD files. This is often the first step before a renovation, a fit-out or a move to Revit.
Revit and BIM modeling
For Revit work the team builds architectural models and Revit families, including furniture and fixtures for manufacturers who want their products used in BIM projects. Existing CAD sets can be taken into Revit, and models can be built from a point cloud the client already has. The scan itself is organized locally by the client.
How a project runs
A client uploads files and a scope of work through the online client area and receives an estimate before any work begins. A project manager follows the job, questions are raised in the same thread, and every revision is kept in one place instead of being scattered through email. Teams that want to see the quality on their own drawings first can start with a test project. NDAs are signed on request.
Pricing
Drafting is billed at $20 per hour for CAD and $25 per hour for Revit and BIM. The rate includes project management and quality checks, and the first two rounds of revisions are included. Regular clients with larger monthly volumes can ask about discounts.
Who uses it
Architects and interior designers who need production sheets without adding staff. Millwork and cabinet shops whose bottleneck is the drafting desk. Furniture manufacturers, general contractors facing a submittal deadline, and developers who need as-built drawings or color floor plans for marketing.
