Project Discovery is Archlior's curated gallery of architectural lighting case studies — real, completed projects documented so you can see exactly which lighting products were used to create them.

Most lighting inspiration is a dead end. You find a photograph of a space with the atmosphere you want, and then the trail goes cold: no fixture names, no manufacturer, no way to act on what you are looking at. Project Discovery is built to close that gap. Every project links the luminaires used in the real installation directly through to the manufacturer's website, so you can go from a photograph you like to a specifiable product in a single step.

That changes what a precedent image is worth. Instead of "something like this," you can tell a client, a colleague or a supplier exactly what produced the effect — which fitting, from which manufacturer, in which real project. The reference stops being a mood board item and becomes the beginning of a specification.

The gallery covers every kind of space. Homes and apartments, hotels and hospitality, workplaces and offices, museums and galleries, retail interiors, restaurants and bars, healthcare, education, civic and cultural buildings, industrial and back-of-house environments, and exterior and facade schemes are all represented. Browsing across space types is useful in itself, because a technique developed for a gallery wall often solves a problem in a hotel lobby.

Designers use Project Discovery in three main ways. As a benchmarking tool, to see how comparable spaces have been lit before committing to an approach. As a sourcing and specification aid, to work backwards from an effect to the exact product and manufacturer that delivered it. And as a communication device, to give a client a concrete reference point instead of an abstract description of atmosphere.

Project Discovery is free to browse, needs no software, plugins or account setup, and works in any browser. It is aimed at interior designers, architects and lighting designers building a precedent library, specifiers and procurement teams researching fixture selection, and manufacturers who want their products seen in the projects they actually shaped.
