Cartes.Archi

Cartes.Archi is a French web app that gathers the official data on a land parcel in about 30 seconds. Architects type an address and get cadastral boundaries, local zoning (PLU) rules, natural and technological risks, recent property sales, energy performance certificates and 3D terrain, each linked to its public source.

It was built by a Lyon architect for feasibility studies and exports sourced PDFs and DXF files for use in Archicad, Revit or SketchUp.

Cartes.Archi Overview

Cartes.Archi is a parcel research tool for architects and other built environment professionals in France. Before any feasibility study, a designer normally opens a long list of government websites to find the cadastral plan, zoning rules, flood and ground risks, and nearby sales. Cartes.Archi pulls that information from official public APIs into one analysis, which the company says takes about 30 seconds per address.

Key features

  • Cadastre – parcel boundaries and plans from cadastre.gouv.fr (DGFiP), with DXF export of the cadastral plan
  • Zoning and planning rules – PLU zoning from the Géoportail de l'Urbanisme, with links to the applicable regulations
  • Risks – natural and technological hazard data from Géorisques (BRGM)
  • Property sales – recent transactions from the DVF open dataset (Etalab)
  • Energy performance – DPE certificates from ADEME
  • 3D terrain – IGN elevation data exported as a point file or DXF for import into Archicad, Revit or SketchUp
  • Source links – every data point shows its source and last update date
  • Optional AI summary – an AI layer can summarize regulatory documents and can be switched off

How it works

Users create an account, enter an address and run an analysis. The data is fetched live from the official sources on each request rather than stored copies, and results can be downloaded as a sourced PDF report or as CAD files. Coverage includes mainland France and the overseas departments of Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Réunion and Mayotte, although 3D terrain export is limited to mainland France because high-resolution lidar is not yet available overseas. The tool is free with unlimited use during its public beta.

Who it's for

Cartes.Archi is designed for architects running early feasibility studies on houses, apartment buildings, renovations and urban projects. It also serves landscape architects, surveyors, engineering firms, urban planners, lawyers and property managers who work at the parcel scale. It does not replace reading the full PLU, but it cuts the research time before design starts.
