NodePen is a web client for Grasshopper, a visual programming language for Rhinoceros 3D. Rhino 7 shipped with "headless" API capabilities that power this shallow wrapper for the same Grasshopper you know and love.

The project is under active development, but you can tinker with the latest build by visiting nodepen.io. Work will continue marching along on nights and weekends! You should check out what I'm doing with some other cool people at Hypar in the meantime.

## Running Locally
NodePen has grown well beyond its early days as an single page app. It's currently not possible to run the entire app locally without also including shims for dependencies on Google Cloud products or a locally running instance of Redis. I'm actively working on what to do about this.

## Release History
### Third Iteration
After about two and a half years of development, NodePen released with user accounts, sharing, and script persistence on January 10, 2022. This marked a symbolic "1.0" release, but there was still a lot to do! Most of the native Grasshopper library was not yet supported, and there was no way to browse scripts on the platform.

The 1.0 editor (no solutions or profiles or sharing) was released on August 8, 2021. The Rhino Compute backend was brought back online and solutions were re-enabled on November 5, 2021.

### Second Iteration
The public test (release) was online between May 7, 2021 and August 8, 2021. Over three months, it delivered 24,765 solutions to 2,501 unique users. It validated the queue-based backend solution infrastructure, but the editor experience left a lot to be desired (especially on mobile devices, which accounted for >70% (!) of all visits).

### First Iteration
The first release on this repo (release) was the end of an initial proof-of-concept phase that started with isolated viability tests and sketches in Winter 2019.

Yes this project was called "glasshopper" for a long time and I don't want to talk about it.

NodePen

BCFier is an extendible and Open Source BCF client. Like IFC is the open standard for Building Information models, BCF is the open standard for Building Issues. BCFier is a set of plugins and standalone apps (modules) that handle BCF and integrate directly with BIM tools.

Currently BCFier is composed of the following modules:

Create and open BCF files directly within Autodesk Revit. With BCFier you can create isseus of 3D and 2D* views, add multiple views and comments to an issue and easily share them with other team members. BCFier also features a standalone Windows app that lets you review BCF files without the need of third party tools.

OPEN SOURCE FORK IT & PULL IT
BCFier is an open source project, join its community and contribute by making suggestions and reporting bugs using GitHub Issues, or by developing new features and modules. Coming soon integration with the BCF REST API and with new BIM tools.
