Construction projects generate enormous amounts of information, yet two fundamental questions remain difficult to answer efficiently and objectively: what has actually been built, and what value does that completed work represent within the project’s financial and contractual structure?
The first question is more complex than it may seem. Construction does not happen on a controlled production line. Sites are complex, constantly changing environments, making it difficult to determine automatically which elements have actually been built.
Reality Capture technologies such as 3D scanning, laser scanning and mobile mapping systems make it possible to record site conditions quickly and in great detail. However, a point cloud is still essentially raw data: a highly accurate geometric representation of the site that, on its own, does not understand what it is seeing.
That is why, for AITwins, capturing reality is only the starting point.
Using proprietary Deep Learning models, AITwins interprets that 3D reality, recognises individual construction elements and identifies which ones have actually been built. In doing so, it transforms an unstructured point cloud into a Digital Twin with construction context.

But understanding what has been built is only the first step. Once the physical elements have been identified, AITwins connects them with the rest of the project information: construction progress, technical characteristics, quantities, BIM information, BoQs, prices, cost data, commercial information and contractual data.
