CORDAX

CORDAX is a software platform that automates MEP system design directly from existing 3D models. It generates optimized, clash-free routing for building systems using 3D graph-based optimization.

The platform ingests architectural and MEP files and computes efficient routing paths that minimize material use while avoiding conflicts with other systems and structural elements. Designs are typically generated in under 1 minute, enabling rapid iteration and comparison of layouts.

CORDAX works on top of existing BIM workflows, including native 3D environments (Autodesk Revit, ArchiCAD, OpenBuildings, etc.). Users can input partially or fully completed models to re-route systems or generate layouts from fixture placements, with constraints such as geometry, system hierarchy, and code requirements built in.

The system is designed to handle real-world project complexity, including multi-floor coordination, dense ceiling spaces, and interactions between multiple trades. By centralizing routing logic, it removes the need for siloed design processes and reduces the coordination cycles typically required between engineering teams.

When ambiguity arises, the system prompts for user input rather than guessing, ensuring engineering control. Outputs integrate directly back into the BIM environment for documentation, detailing, and construction handoff without requiring major workflow changes.

CORDAX also improves standardization and consistency across projects by applying repeatable logic to system layout, reducing variability between designers. This supports more predictable outcomes in both design and installation.

CORDAX is currently in an early stage, with the platform being tested on live projects to validate performance in real-world conditions. The team is seeking pilot programs with engineers, contractors, and developers looking to improve design efficiency and coordination.
