The station building is an organic shape steel structure consisting of three connected parts. The left and right building portions are formed by curved Vierendeel truss beams extruding from the main Vierendeel truss down to the reinforced concrete foundation. These main trusses are supported by a row of columns with additional vertical bracing. The structural analysis program RFEM is the basis of a modular software system. The main program RFEM is used to define structures, materials, and loads for planar and spatial structural systems consisting of plates, walls, shells and members. The program also allows you to create combined structures as well as model solid and contact elements.

RFEM provides deformations, internal forces, stresses, support forces, and soil contact stresses. The corresponding add-on modules facilitate data input by automatic generation of structures and connections or can be used to perform further analyses and designs according to various standards.

Timber Design

At the beginning of December 2016, a giant wooden airship “suspended” above the Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague, Czech Republic, has been opened to the public.The unique airship structure made of timber and steel has been named “Gulliver” and, just like the early zeppelins, it represents the eternal human desire to fly and a certain utopian ideal. Gulliver will serve as a space for literature events related to the themes of DOX’s exhibitions. These exhibitions are characterized by critical reflection on the situation of our contemporary world. Wooden Airship Gulliver Above DOX Centre in Prague, Czech Republic

The goal was to design a spiral staircase with glass steps and railings spanning over 2 floors. With sophisticated anchoring details and helical stringers created from subtle rectangular hollow section, a light and elegant staircase was formed. The interior spiral staircase is located inside of the educational, training and rehabilitation center in the city of Zlín. The façade of the new Dubai headquarters is one of BESIX 3D’s first and pioneering projects of 2020. It is the largest 3D concrete printed façade in the world. The façade consist of 290 panels, each one printed in 3D concrete in their adjacent lab. On average, each panel took about 10 minutes to be printed.
